Use to own a 2002 CRV. The compressors were known to self destruct and the dealer will only replace the entire system. Didn't happen in the 2 ~ 3 years I own it and my friend is the original owner. Sold it to a friend's brother at around 230K and was still OK. The TXV or Orifice Tube should always come out of the system for any cleaning.
