Several months ago, I used thick weedeater cord which was wound up on a spool. Worked great. It was strong enough to push the clogged material through, so water could flow. And it was flexible enough to do the appropriate bends.
When finished, I just rinsed it off and wound it back up on the spool, awaiting the next time I have to cut off a piece for the weedeater.
Cost: $0 for me, but you can buy spools of the cord at Sears or wherever for a few dollars.
