Put up your zip in help wanted and see if someone is nearby with VIDA to help out

Volvo owners here are a pretty good bunch.

Fully charge your battery. Those codes may be caused by a weak battery. While it is charging double check all your work. When satisfied and batter is fully charged clear all codes. Have your son start the car and isolate where (and if) the noise is still present.

Did the V70 donor part number match the original part number? You can cross reference to see if they are swappable.

You can also do a deep dive into the original TB and look to see if the film contacts are all messed up. Don't butcher it as you may want to a SACR unit on it.

The high pitch whine followed by a click and then silence is the happy song of a compatible throttle body and software

Great! The abs controllers are expensive parts so used is the way to go on these.

I had a beautiful V70 2001 T5 wagon sorry to say but NO companies doing ABS module refurbishment for this year; not even XeModex. New ABS controllers about $1,000USD. Used controllers had the same codes for me and the 2 yaw sensors in the cabin for DSTC no longer in production. Try BBS remanufacturing as a longshot.

Once the heater core, head gasket and transmission S2 solenoid all failed within months of each other I called it quits. I still miss her jewel blue paintwork. Good that you got her running because not all ETMs are programmed to the same software version.

I now drive a Korean boat with diesel German running gear, darned reliable but no performance or character.
