I gave a couple of negative reviews for crap products without being insulting and they were never included on the products. So apart from their pricing having gone way up over the last couple of years, they are mostly no longer competitive for those of us North of the 49th. Warranty is great, but rather have a safe product and not have to use the warranty!

Most of reviews are “ I installed these and they work great” which doesn’t contain longevity information.

They do flag low star reviews for review before posting, which you can avoid by giving it 4 stars and putting issues in the title ( sorry about that FCP)

The best place for product reviews is......

The supplier of the springs should agree to replace the springs. They should also want to obtain the springs and test for hardness in the area of the break. They should also want to test the spring material for steel additives percentages. Their internal heat treatment specifications should have hardness range that is suitable for strength and life before failure. Springs are not rocket science, but this has gone horribly wrong.

Did the breaks occur at the contact of the spring seats? There should also be no roughness on the surface of the spring material.

Didn't realize the other side burst too, that's just weird. Must be a whole run of these with defective springs

Wow that looks like a quick brittle failure. I wonder if they were supposed to be shot peened and were not or maybe not heat treated properly

Once the strut is out of the car it’s not hard to remove the spring, I use an air gun on my spring compressor and wear safety glasses and put everything back quickly. The OEM springs seem to be well made.

Hopefully FCP refunds you or gives you something else

Sorry that this happened. I saw an image of the like-new Pirelli, opened up like a gutted fish. Not pretty.

Second strut had same failure as first. Lower spring coil had fracture and corrosion failure.

Gutted tire. Yikes

I have not heard of this type of failure on the P80, not that it can't happen of course. On P2's in particular I have seen this exact issue on front coil failures. Glad you were not driving on a highway when that failed.
