Never did find a way. Just had to let it drain down but you need to have a pressure bleeder to re-fill. I had hoped the old trick of a piece of ceran wrap/cling film under the master cylinder ca might work to prevent the fluid leaking out but that didn't work.

Vacuum cap with a zip tie should hold the brake fluid. Throw it away when done, it won’t like brake fluid much

Some notes on this job.

The brake lines are much easier to undo after you remove the three short and one long bolt holding in the jack point and fore-aft bent torsion rod ( my description, not sure of proper Volvo name) they both live in the left side, 11 mm flare and vice grip needed. Unclipthe brake lines to allow slack up to front of motor.

The seven bad boy bolts seize to the Aluminum and , less so, unto the frame. I had to use oxy to get the aluminum glowing and a 1500 ft Lb impact to get two of them off, the front two. The last, seventh one is on the torque rod and wasn’t bad.

You have to be pretty high to get the subframe out, maybe 30 cm! You could drop onto a low profile roller or plywood, then jack and slide but the assembly is heavy, like 150 kg / 300 pounds

Make sure you attach a messenger line to the wiring harness and pull it through the hole in the trunk. I had to drop mine again to fix that.

Once you get the subframe raised to with one cm of the car frame you can start the four M14 bolts and use them to align for the final lift. If you cleaned off all the crap,it is a nice easy fit, with lots of lube on the frame to facilitate movement.

You have to dress and connect the evap line during the install of the subframe.
