This product, cuts, polished, & waxes in one step. You add to your polisher pad, polish, & wipe with clean microfiber. Called a All in one compound. This is my go to product for paint enhancements.

I have always been an advocate of hand washing, waxing and polishing. That has really gotten old as I get older so the vehicles get neglected, one car not being washed for 4 years. Thank God for rain storms through out the year. Finally purchased a DA polisher and Ceramic Coat. Will update after it arrives and the work is done.

Going to follow his instructions with Griot. Used the Griot to polished the headlights with a sponge drill attachment and it's pretty good. DA should be much better.

For Paint, Trim, Windshield and Rim.

If you are going to correct the paint on your Volvo you might consider getting it ceramic coated. Here is a video I made of my most recent ceramic coating install. It’s basically a wax that lasts 3-5 years with proper maintenance.

Thanks for all the ideas, I think I will try that product that nucci recommended. I don't want to spend a lot of money and just want the car to look its best. I have a pretty good Simomize car polisher that I haven't used and have a lot of time on my hands. Going to try the Forever Black product for the plastic and will post result photos.

As far as the plastic goes, paint is the only was to go. Clean with any degreaser (simple green, etc), tape with newspaper to protect your paint and be prepared for a new-looking car, no joke. Any spray paint at home depot/lowes/ace that works with wood/metal/plastic and has a matte finish.

I tried the heat gun method about 18 months ago on my 04 xc70. Turned from a bluish color back to black. It has held up well since.
