I'm glad that you were able to fix the sensor.

I am surprised to see that a LED can be used as a sensor. Thanks for the excellent YouTube video. It was impressive to see the display light come on and to dim, as the sensor LED was illuminated by the external light and then covered.

Here's my quick, cheap (and temporary) fix. The sensor itself is slightly receded and that might be the root of the problem but I wasn't able to push it back flush with the housing. Foil works but is not quite to Swedish standards.
