+1 on the smoke tester to find leaks in the intake system, works great.

Ok, finally found the problem. I put a fuel pressure Guage on there and let the car run and run, until it started acting up. I noticed the fuel pressure drop to about 11-PSI. Pulled the pump and found the rubber fuel line had slid down and was barely connected to the sending unit assembly. I replaced it with a longer fuel line, and mystery solved.
