Thanks for the video, finally watched it all the way through lol. I tried direct ether to the ports at the rail and since that didn’t work, I assume it’s spark related….but, I have 10.8 at each coil on cranking and nothing. Tried jumping, nothing.

What am I overlooking?

Again thanks so much to everyone for helping, I don’t have many more options.

What fuel pressure did you find? Need about 55 PSI.
Spark should be strong and blue. Something electrical may still be wet. Is all of your wire harness well wrapped?

Wire harness is ok, but all the coil wire black plastic covering disintegrated from age. Is that a possibility?

Also, didn’t actually test fuel pressure, but I’m willing to do that. Just assumed direct ether spray into the injection ports ruled out fuel. Am I wrong on that?
New to Volvo, so I might be prejudiced to thinking it’s something I’m not familiar with.

Thanks for answering me! I appreciate everyone’s help!!

You need good fuel pressure (55 PSI) for good spray pattern. Test the fuel pressure with gauge adapter at the pressure release Schrader valve on the right side of the intake manifold. Remove the valve internal and use a hose to adapt to 0 to 100 PSI gauge. Pressure should come up immediately and hold steady.
If some of your wiring loam is missing, there could be a short caused by water somewhere. This would explain the sudden no start after the rain storm.
The coil ground wires are very important. Are they all clean and connected to the head?

Hey folks, I checked the rail. Solid 55 psi. Put new insulation on my wires, cleaned and checked all grounds….still nothing.

Any other thoughts or ideas on this would be beyond appreciated.

Thanks!

Maybe check for any loose vacuum or electric connections? Maybe do a smoke test for the intake system. Search this forum for how to do smoke test.
Check any area you worked around for something you may have knocked loose.

Thanks for all the help volvolugnut. Can I do a smoke test if it won’t start? Thanks!

I checked for leaks, didn’t find any unfortunately. I did this by blowing air through the tree connector near the grill. Also used smoke through there as well to make sure.
