It’s a pretty normal occurrence for things to fail in a spectacular fashion for me. It’s what’s driven me to become so meticulous about maintenance!

Kudos to getting her back together so quickly!

Pete was thorough and meticulous when he went and checked out a vehicle for me. Yes, I was thinking the same thing getting it fix so quickly and effortlessly it seems. Surprising but not surprising!

This thread does make me appreciate when my kids tell me about noises/ vibrations/ smells/ etc...ahead of time.

Most recent was the 70mph vibration shudder on my kids 02 S60 2.4T with 180k. Passenger side CV shaft with some play causing the issue. Would have been "exciting" had he let that continue during interstate travels.
😄

Now if the other kid only had indication his timing belt was letting lose on his 05 S40 at 150k...

Ha-ha,
You should have known that the T-belt can only last 149,999.99 miles (to be precise).
I remember experimenting on a 1995 Ford Escort (4-cyl. non-interference engine) when I used to have a lot more time than money on hand...

Sorry for your loss... :D

My s60 2008 has the same problem a shudder/vibration in the car when accelerating over 60. I got all 4 wheels balanced and it didn’t go away. The steering wheel is fine and doesn’t vibrate. Any solution would be much appreciated.

That's almost certainly going to be a CV shaft, most likely the passenger side one.

Worn control arms , bushings, and ball joints can do that too

How many miles on that S60?

Also add worn inner and outer tie-rods.
