Did you run the 2099 patch and the IE Tab helper app?

I ran the patch and IE Tab helper. I am going to reinstall. There was one step that I was unsure of. It involved running the 2099 patch and allowing the destination for the files to be put in a suggested directory: my download directory I will specify C:\VIDA instead when I get to that step. I will let you know the results.
Thanks for always helping us get VIDA up and running.

Don't do a reinstall. Just run the 2099 patch. Install the 2099 patch to the default location ( C:\VIDA ). In other words, do not change the path.

Does anyone know the approximate size of the VIDA download? I’m trying to find an old computer and make space on smaller hard drives..

Rick
Thanks for all your efforts to help me. I am very grateful.
Attached are some pictures of the installation process. Running 2099 gives me the path error. Thanks again.

I could edit the license xml file by hand. Or I could place the missing file in a correct location or change the Vida directory name to Vida_Home to run the patch and then change it back to C:\Vida
path error when running patch 2099 notice %Vida_Home%. Install is at C:\Vida. % usually represents variable in the CMD script.

%VIDA_HOME%/patch\filldb.cmd is a internal path to the to the 2099 patch. For some reason some environments have trouble find it.

The 2009 patch is a self extracting WinRAR archive. You could use with WinRAR to unpack the 2099 patch with paths and run filldb.cmd from the hard drive.

Success finally! Thanks for sticking with me. I found the following information using a google search on the error shown in the previous attached image. Please look at the following:

Quoted instructions from another web site:

Instructions for VIDA 2013A Windows 7 64bit (note added 5a). (I installed VIDA on a Windows 10 version 21H1 using a Lenovo x301 @ 1.6GHz with 8 GB ram onto a 120 GB SSD)
The patch needs to shut down VIDA to do the tweak. That is what TSKILL does

Biggest problems I had is with IE. Restore it to default settings and enable comparability mode to work ( i tried to use Chrome browser with IE TAB. Double clicking on the VIDA All-in-One desktop icon launched VIDA in EDGE browser)

VIDA Instructions

1. Insert the disk in the CD-ROM ( I used a memory stick with the ISO and 2099 patch files on it)
2. Choose VIDA all-in-one (I followed steps 1-4 from the mounted ISO as recommend by Rick)
3. Choose the Language – English is Default
4. Follow the steps
5.At the end at VIDA Configuration choose INTERNET connection type.
5a. Copy TSKILL.exe from Windows\System32 to Windows\SystWOW64 (I did this!)
6. After reboot run the file VIDA2013A_patch.exe from the VIDA disk. If you installed VIDA in C:\VIDA the patch should go on C: (not in C:\VIDA) ( Before rebooting I did run the 03_patch.cmd from the ISO. I ran the 04_SQL_SP3.cmd from the ISO. After rebooting I ran the 2099 patch and selected c:\. This runs the patch with no errors! ) Somewhere in the installation process the Windows firewall request popped up and I allowed the request)
7. Login with ADMIN or 1 ( I used 2 as my login)

If a new window will pop-up asking for username/password just close it and on the previous windows you will be logged in already. (Did not happen to me)

I did all of what was mentioned in steps 1, 2, 3, 4,and 5 by following your original steps 1-4. BIG difference was copying the TSKILL.exe into Windows'SystWOW64 directory.
I ran the 2099 patch and selected c:\ as the location for the patch. No TSkill error. Finally ran without the "can't find fill???.cmd" error when running the patch.

I am able to log in to VIDA. Will connect my DICE unit and see if that works.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU. I hope this addendum to the instructions helps others get their VIDA software installed.

After fiddling with the DICE installation it also works. I communicated with the vehicle (1999 S70-GLT). BTW you must fill in all of the vehicle information (body type, transmission type, etc) before the DIAGNOSTICS tab will become available.

Have successfully run DIAGNOSTICS and cleared preexisting faults. It took me awhile to find the ERASE function. Look in the lower left corner of the screen. Not the greatest user interface. I also ran the DICE communication test. DICE passed OK. At least this clone seems to be a legitimate copy Ha Ha. Now if I could only find a 2013 S80-T6 Inscription to test and possibly buy.
Thanks again for everyone's efforts to support the VIDA installation saga we go through.

A special call out to RickHaleParker! Rick has responded to many of our pleas for help. I know this involves lots of his time and I for one am grateful and appreciative. Thanks again.
