Rerun the DiCE install X:\3PP\Products\DiCE\
Thank you Rick. I'll give it a try.

A word of caution: while Belarc is a great little tool (I have used it for the better part of two decades, off and on). It does not always give the correct license keys...better known as Product Activation Keys, or PAKs.

Starting with Windows 8, Microsoft worked with the OEM (Hewlett-Packard Pacakard, Dell, etc) to embed the unique PAK in the BIOS.

If you REALLY want to know what the PAK is for your machine, you need to extract it.

THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO HARDWARE THAT WAS SHIPPED WITH NO OPERATING SYSTEM OR TO HARDWARE THAT WAS SHIPPED WITH VERSIONS OF WINDOWS PRIOR TO WINDOWS 8

Once extracted, this PAK should be safeguarded and not shared. In order to properly activate Windows, follow these instructions:

1. Launch an elevated Command Prompt by RIGHT clicking the start button, and then LEFT click “Command Prompt (Admin)”
2. At the command prompt, type this string to extract the PAK from the BIOS:

wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey

The code displayed under OA3xOriginalProductKey is the PAK embedded in your laptop.

1. Manually install .net framework 3.5.
2. Run scripts 1- 3, in the root directory of VIDA2014D_RePack.iso, one at a time.
3. Run the 2099 patch
4. Run Script 4
. Do not run Script 5
5. Reboot
6. Wait for Java to request a firewall exception.
7. Wait for Vida monitor to turn green.

If DiCE does not work correctly. Run DiCE setup in :\3PP\Products\DiCE\

Clean up: Uninstall Russian language Adobe reader and install English language Adobe reader.

Password: admin or 1 - 4 for specific Partner groups.
Hi Rick,

I did a clean Re-installation of WIN10 then downloaded your RePack. I first enabled net framework 3.5 then ran all scripts minus the last one for WIN7. I can open VIDA-all-in-one but cannot login using admin. It loops back to the same login page. Even tried 1, 2, 3, 4 for username but same result. I tried reinstalling the patch several times and rebooted but still cannot login.

It seems to be an issue with the patch not working. I ran the patch several times to c:\

Is the patch meant to be in the C:\VIDA folder or a C:\VOLVO VIDA 2014D Patch folder? There is no license in the C:\VIDA folder. I found one in the other folder and I updated it to 2099 but still cannot login.

Thank you,

John

What do you mean by "I found one in the other folder and I updated it to 2099"? This make no sense...

I think this is where you got it wrong. The Patch modifies the database, it is does not place a license file on the hard drive. The patch is a executable, just run it and let it do what it wants to.

That subfolder was created by the patch on the VIDA CD. I gave it a shot cause for some reason your patch didn't work neither?

RickHaleParker wrote: 26 Feb 2018, 01:52 Tonight I tested Vida 2014D RePack on a machine which has Windows 10 Home.
I installed 2014D RePack per my instruction, posted Feb 19 2018, 13:21.
Vida 2014D RePack installed and ran on Windows 10 Home without any modifications.

So far I have confirmed Vida 2014D RePack installs and runs on Windows 10 Pro, Windows 10 Home and Windows 7 Pro without any modifications to the files in the iso. With the exception of the 2099 patch which does modify some of the files from the iso after they are installed.
Which patch is needed for WIN 10 Pro? The 2099 patch or the 03_Patch within the RePack?

Got VIDA working again after doing a full cleanup then re-installation. Learned today that when doing an uninstall always remove VIDA first following every other SW added to get it operating.

I was able to get DICE to communicate via VIDA but somehow couldn't get a graph displayed? I selected the ECM, added 2 preferences, then clicked on graph but nothing appeared after clicking START? I tried zooming in then tried Auto but still nothing.

Well at least I know it's functioning now. I'll try a graph again tomorrow.

Ran DiCE Setup. Unsuccessful with VIDA/DiCE communication. READ VEHICLE fails too "An unhandled exception has occurred"...

Does this "Unhandled exception..." requires removal of .Net Framework 4.0 and installing of .Net Framework 3.5?
