If you eliminate the connector as an issue, you may also want to take a look at your wheel sensors and associated wiring......just a thought.

This repair is a nightmare ...
I mean taking off the ABS module (and I guess even more putting it back).
I took off the two screws that are relatively easy to reach, but can not imagine how I am going to take the rest two ones
.
For now I am driving with only two screws holding the ABS module, and they're not diagonally placed.

I finally took mine off thanks to these instructions:

Let's hope thee ABS will work after reinstallation.
The topic is great, but why the author, moderators or administrator don't add the removal instructions in the beginning of the tutorial, instead of people fooling around to find a way to reach the unreachable screws under the ABS module

Also, why buy only the E5 socket @ 5 bux instead of buying a whole 11 pc FEMALE E-TORX (star) SOCKET Set w/RAIL @ $16.99 from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000I4 ... oh_product ???
There are more and different sizes of torx bolts on the car, last week I went to change my front right wheel bearing and the mechanic did not have the FEMALE E-TORX needed and used a regular socket
...

Sorry you had difficulty. I actually discovered Vic Rocha's site before I became an MVS member, and never seemed to have any trouble removing or reinstalling the modules. Vic is a great guy that I enjoyed doing business with - I hope that there will continue to be a market for his service for those who aren't comfortable to go the DIY route.
I did buy a set of the torx bits when I needed to remove my first ABS module. However, I really don't recall using them on much of anything else because most of the applications on the car require the male torx bits.

I just wanted to say thanks for your ABS repair guide. Yes, it's a little difficult opening the unit but I just saved a pile 'O' cash. What a lousy solder job by the original producers of these modules! Anyway, your instructions made the job possible for me.....ABS/TRACS lights out!

HI C@lvin.
There might be no many of those bolts requiring E-Torx sockets, but as I said, to change the wheel bearing you need one, and a big one.
The mechanic, because he didn't have it, did heat the bolts with an Acetylene-Oxygen Welder & Cutter, which probably destroyed the ABS sensor which was very close to two of the bolts.

After I assembled back the ABS module and the car reached the desired speed (I don't remember what exactly it was) the ABS light went out
...
Just another tip (I am not sure no one else has already mentioned it as I have not read all the postings here, but I'll give it a try).
Why bother attach the screws with dental floss or whatever else so they don't fall as long as you can put a latex glove on your left hand, take the bolts one by one by their heads, screw them in their places tight enough so the ratchet can function properly ant that's it.
The latex glove give you more grip on their heads.
Even with my big hands and fingers I succeeded.
