Today I replaced the CBV on my 98 s70. Went fine, I did go and buy a 10mm ratcheting pivot head combo wrench, so score there. The diaphragm didn't have any holes but the rubber had obviously seen better days. New diaphragm from kinugawa (ebay)seemed to be slightly larger in circumference than the original. I followed Russb's lead, thanks to him for that. The job wasn't as bad as I was anticipating, took about an hour and a half. Removed the airbox, intake tube, heat shield and the OTE intercooler pipe. Sprayed the whole area good with carb cleaner. This was the solution to my boost leak and fluttering sound. New diaphragm, new Wastegate actuator and tab, and the car builds boost and holds it, finally. It's fun to drive again, we'll see what breaks next!
