I think the car differences should also be noted.

I highly doubt the 850 and S70/V70 engine/trans ecus are the same, and I'm sure the mechanicals of the engines/trannys were also updated to improve mileage among other things.

For example, I get about 22mpg on my 96 850 auto NA driving like a grandma with I'd say 50/50 city/highway driving. I've done the stage 0 items, and I don't think my car will get any better than this. I once managed to get ~25mpg on constant highway driving around 65mph tho.

Mileage drops quite a bit when you do 70-80mph instead of 60-65.

Im sure the newer S or V has much better mileage than any 850.
96 850 GLT with 37k miles.
