99% of 98's have 280 mm.

Look how close the brake disc comes to the inside of the wheel - it's quite close on 302 mm brakes.

There is about 1 1/2" from the edge of the rotor to the inside of the wheel. There is about 1/2" from the caliper to the same point on the wheel.

So time to get regular registration now. And put tint back on the windows.

I found out I need front rotors really soon. Is there an easier way to tell if I have 280 or 302mm rotors than taking the wheel off and measuring?
Are you removing tint from the front windows or all of them? I put 35% on my 960 and it did the trick for me. That should be legal everywhere.

I had it removed from all of the windows. The fronts were the only ones that were already "ok." And since I am ocd, I prefer that all of the windows are the same brand. And it wouldn't have cost me any less to leave the fron 2 windows alone.

What state are you in?

Also, yes, those are 280.

I am in Maryland. So 35% is as dark as you can go for regular vehicles. In DC however the law is way worse, 75% and 55%....... So whats the point right?

I'm in NOVA, and my Cruze has tinted windows. Haven't had a change to register it yet with VA plates, but I'm hoping the tint on it is fine (it was from the dealer, after all!)

So for a bit of an update::::::
Everything has basically been going pretty good. Haven't had any super major problems. Remember how I was going to swap coolant expansion tanks from the totalled 850? Yeah, I didn't but should have. It started leaking a couple of weeks ago. Yesterday I replaced the expansion tank, drivers side door check strap and went to replace the fog light bulb socket... only to findbout that the actual plug was partially melted as well. I guess I will be trying to findbout of those somewhere. Also, I found out my control arm bushings, sway bar bushings and sway bar end links are bad. I got everything except the sway bar bushings so far. Apparently not all cars came with the same sized sway bars... thanks Volvo. I don't want to buy an entire sway bar or the set from IPD so I am going to have my friend measure it this week when he puts on the control arms.

So as soon as I replaced all of those parts and though I was going to be good for a while..... my sunroof decided to stop working. Well not totally. It still tilts up but won't slide open. It starts to but then stops. I'm guessing. Something is in the track. I still need to do the brakes and I think the blower motor is starting go bad as well as the cabin temp sensor might be bad as well. Or on its way out. The automatic climate control doesn't seem to be too accurate to me.

As for the sunroof, there is a good chance that the guide is stuck. I gave on a good wack near the front corner and it hasn't acted up since, 5 months ago.

I did give that a try for the sunroof. Sadly it seemed to have no effect...

Today I had the front control arms replaced. Yay for one more thing to cross off the list.

A weird thing has started happening randomly. I will just normally use the brakes and sometimes the abs just kicks in for no apparent reason. Also sometimes the abs and tracs light come on. If I turn the car off and back on, it goes away... I am pretty much assuming that it is my abs module going/gone bad. Add another thing to the list.

Maybe connected to my sunroof problem is that the whole front passenger side floor was wet. I haven't noticed any leakingbother than a small amount sometimes from the actual sunroof when in a car wash.
