Here's very minor tip from someone who has for decades been using zip ties or Ty-Wraps or cable ties both for what they are intended to do and for the million other uses they are excellent for: Get yourself a set of FLUSH CUT diagonal cutters. These will cut the excess flush with the other part of the cable tie and not leave a ragged or sharp edge protruding. This little remnant can actually cut you quite badly later on when you jamming your arm past one you previously installed. And when you are being highly meticulous (as some of us sometimes are), it tops off a clean and professional job.

Hey! I said minor! :-)

I always carry a supply in my emergency kit for long trips.

Also, at the moment, some huge black ty-wraps are holding up a 20-ft long stretch of picket fence on my property. I'd draw the line way before using them as a spring compressor like you do, abscate. ;-)

I've actually been wondering lately who designed this little gem of a tool and whether or not he or his progeny ever see any royalties on it.

Thanks, jreed!

It's always good to have someone post photos of where these weak points are hiding.

I think that last one solves poor pee stream problems well. there is short term discomfort during the procedure.

It's bringing tears of joy and surprise to my eyes to see the unanticipated directions this thread has been going
