2004 s60 steering wheel vibration when cold then ok

I do feel slight vibration at idling, that comes and goes randomly, that is why I still want to check lower mounts. Maybe there is some kind of resonance in narrow range of speed. Axles is not a black magic, you can check it and it gives its symptoms like excessive play and they act bad while accelarating harldy. I would understand axles with 200-300 tkm done, they don't break because they are old - and rubber/oil does.

Please explain how axle would be worse in cold temp and fix after couple of miles?
