Stalling on rundown is a classic vacuum leak symptom. Definitely wait until after that vacuum leak is fixed as I think that will get it.

If your fuel rail is not leaking fuel I would leave it alone.

Y'all,

Thank you so much for all of your advice, instruction and help. I will indeed insist that the last shop which was purported to "fix" my vacuum leak...actually does.

Send addresses by next November and I will bake Holiday cookies and brownies to send out to all who have helped. A small compensation for the "ego-boosting", skill enhancing advice all of you have contributed.
