I love my sunroof and use it all the time. There was a recent post on here by someone who redid his headliner and took the time to put some additional sound insulation on the underside of the roof of his, I believe, wagon. Said it made the car significantly quieter.

My ancient thread has sprung to life. My V70 has kept me busy with actual mechanical and electrical problems. I haven't had time to do the headliner yet. For the time being I've been using the non swedish screw in upholstery pins. They work although they are not OEM. I found some camo headliner material and for some reason it appeals to me. Camo seat covers are also available. If I could find some retro 60's 70's hippie flower power headliner material I might go with that. I already have the peace sign stickers. Original headliner color would maximize resale value but at 16 years old I think that unique also has its own appeal.

I decided to try the sray glue on mine, as I don't care what happens to it right now. It didn't work, so don't waist the time. The old foam is nothing to stick to. It will flap in the breeze for a while longer.
I vote for the pins at this point.

I won't buy a car without a sunroof. The EV was the only exception, but that has a bed up top so I cut it some slack. Enjoying sunshine and fresh air from up top is one of life's best value/cost propositions IMHO .

We can agree to disagree on sunroofs.

Regarding the magnets as a stop-gap - they failed. I got 18mm x 3mm neodymium magnets from Home Depot and they were not strong enough.

You can actually buy some "pins" that screw in at a hardware or auto parts store. I put mine in about 5 years ago and they dont come out.
