Thanks!
LCA will be installed with all new fasteners.
VIDA says to use new Sems nut on ball-joint too.
All ordered for $30

After considering Volvo's and Lemforder, giving IPD/MeyleHD another chance to live up to what it sells.

Purchased new set of Meyle-HD from IPD to avoid down-time. I will return the failed ones for a tentative promise from IPD for defective part covered under 4-Year Warranty, i.e., get my money back.

Fasteners from local Volvo.

I checked Lemforder bushings recently, installed ~40k miles ago. Still strong.

A good day for this DIYer.
The suspension feels a whole lot better going over manhole. The new control arm, alignment, and now full refund under product warranty from IPD makes the effort worthwhile -- IPD a trusted supplier.

Do you think that the rear bushing has failed? I replaced 12-yo OE bushing in same condition with Meyle, it got similar tears just in a few weeks.

Front bushing is dead for sure.

Here is the driver's side rear, vtl - the tear is much deeper. The car is on jack-stand, and wheels removed.

A more accurate description would be like steering sway side-to-side when going over manhole -- rattled each time.

Excessive LCA deterioration would result in ball-joint failure at end-link, knuckle, and tie-rod.
I am looking at replacing outer tie-rod next. Perhaps overhaul the rack itself.

Costly if not detected and fixed.

These findings are starting to make me very thoughtful...
On my S60, I put in MeyleHD Ctrl Arms and sway bar links from FCP - about 10kmi ago (FCP did not have the Lemforder arms at that time, just the BJs). All new fasteners from Lisle Volvo as required, 4-wheel alignment afterwards. Fantastic feel this far.

"We shall see" at the next oil change and I will post (something good, I hope) 8)
Example of Precision: Measure with a Micrometer, mark it with Chalk, and then cut it with an Axe.

OK,
We did see something good. All bushings seem fine to me on visual; the 'fantastic new car' feel is still present. Overall: Happy camper :D

Pictures of the front bushings on the CTRL Arms only (as much as I could shove my old garage camera in). The ones I took on the rear bushings did not come out clear enough to post. Sorry...
I hope I'll take better pics when I get to drop the wheels for the brake hose replacement next weekend or so
