It's not entirely obvious, when you lift and slide down the cowl or weather tray same difference lol to gain access to the cabin filter, there should remain a plastic molding along the bottom of the glass. That's usually the culprit, you may need to remove the wipers and cowl completely to get it out. It will be thin and run the almost the full width of the windshield. If you had the window replaced by a reputable company they should have cleaned that and put a little sealer on it. Might be worth checking with them first before trying to do it just to find they already have. Another common issue is if you have a sunroof the drains can get clogged. If you open the sunroof in the very front corners under the roof there should be drain holes, if you pour a little water in that front tray it should drain fairly quickly. If they don't drain I typically use a length of weed whacker line to snake them out. I would take pics of my v70 but alas it's April and we just got 6 freaking inches of snow, In April! Let me know how you make out.

Thanks. Sunroof drains are good. Removing rain tray entirely s PIA as wipers need to be removed, and of course I just did that when I converted wipers from V70. Oh well, I'm getting used to doing jobs over, builds character...or something. But clue is wet cabin filter, soaked with some debris mixed in after a good hard rain. Thanks for the suggestion.

You welcome, let me know how to make out. I know all about chasing water leaks, it can be maddening.

Okay, so did some work today, cleaned the rubber collar around the cabin filter and used adhesive to tack it back down well. Double checked all drains they are good. Noted the filter housing was not OEM so replaced with Volvo one I picked up after a rampage at the Pic-N-Pull. Lower plastic piece below windshield looks new and clean well adhered so not likely to be the problem. Hoping for the best though not entirely optimistic.
