wet floor passenger side not antifreeze
Hello all. I have a 1997 850 that has a very wet floor on the passenger side. The liquid is definitely not antifreeze. The windshield vent hoses are clear and completely free of debris as are the rear vent hoses. The floor is soaked and after picking the mat and carpet up, it is clear that the foam padding os soaked. I checked the vent hole for the a/c and that is clear too.Is it possible that the windshield seals have failed that badly? I will post a pic of the upper seal, which could be suspect If you click on the photos, they should rotate to the correct position. Any suggestions on this are appreciated!

Did you checked the drain hole under viper's motor/arm plastic cover?
Usually it's the main culprit.

You have two possible places: Under the cabin filter their a plastic boot that comes loose with time. You need to clean it and glue it back.
In the same corner as the filter take a wet back and vacuum all the gunk, you have a drain hole that needs to clean with air pressure.
The channel in which the wiper motor sits, slopes towards this drain: Only one drainn for all this water

Also, it is super common for that windshield trim piece to be missing, one of my 850s has been missing it for years with no leaking. Can cause noise on the highway, I know some people put electrical tape over it.

Thanks misha and humbertoflores63. I'll check these when I get back home and let you know. Just to be sure, I have to remove the cowl, the wiper arms and check the drain (on the cabin air filter side)?

If you unscrew all of the torx screws across the cowl, you can do this without removing the wiper arms. Just push the cowl out of the way. But might be easier to have total access, yes.

Thanks everyone (humbertoflores63, misha and erikv11) The drain by the cabin air filter had some gunk in it. I cleaned out that drain hose and checked to see that water flowed freely through it and the two others on the cowl. Now I just have to concentrate on getting the mat, the carpet and the padding dried out. Great advice from all!

1+,
There is a youtube video on how to clean the cabin air filter housing area.
Re: windshield trim piece that sits btw the glass and the roof: it is mostly cosmetic. The actual sealing is btw the polyurethane sealant and the glass itself. You can't see the poly sealant once the glass is installed.
