That's exactly how it sounds! I'm thinking you're right with the car having lawnmower syndrome. We're going to get back to work on it Saturday, so I'll let everyone know what happens. I'll get that tensioner properly aligned and fix the lawnmower syndrome.

It may well be *only* LMS but always good to sort out the timing then proceed. :)

That's my reasoning. I want to make sure everything is right!

Having the factory mark on each cog and incorporating one on each of your own before removal can aid in putting vvt to the last known ecm position.

Listened to the video- My S70 a few years ago did that with a bad throttle position sensor. If you unplugged it by chance, make sure it's plugged back in - that could be the only thing wrong. Did you read your codes after the TB re-change and no start?

I'm just throwing this out there but do you have pressure at the fuel rail?

I have a 850 GLT 1992 without VVT so don`t know if it is the same.

My marks on camwheels was way off.

Set the crankshaft on mark and lock the cams in the back and see to that cyl. 1 is on top.
That worked for me.
Factory cam marks are not spot on, but mine engine is running perfect.

I haven't checked for fuel pressure.

Every time I go over there I forget to bring my scanner... so I haven't checked for codes. I don't believe I unplugged anything other than the coolant level sensor.

you may as well run different scenarios. fuel, spark, timing. Fuel pressure can be as simple as unscrewing the cap and pressing the shredder valve. If you do not get pressure at all, that is not good. Though a fuel pressure tool would be ideal.
