If you have the amp already, is it under the passenger seat. On LHD cars the amplifier is under the RH front seat and the cable runs up the inside of the center console to the radio. Connections are easy.

You may have the older style of amplifier which is behind the radio head unit itself.

Looks like someone originally had a 900/901
and replaced it with an amplified HU. If I'm not
mistaken, in the second image, the under seat
amp harness is plugged into itself. Unplug the
two sets of connectors in the foam.

The connector with the two red tapping connectors
should plug directly into the 900/901, along with the
connector with only a single black/yellow wire.

Then the two remaining A & B connectors can be mated.

You should also have a larger, 6 pin DIN Amp plug hiding
in there someplace. It runs the preamp level signal down
to he under seat amp. The smaller DIN plug in the first
image looks like the optional CD changer connector.

Don't forget both antenna plugs, small and standard size.

As for all of those red tapping connectors, remove the
ones that aren't connected and patch the pierced insulation
with some decent quality electrical tape. See where the ones
that still have wires connected go and decide if they should
remain or be removed.

Hopefully, this will all be plug and play.
You just need to rearrange the plugs to play.

Not sure what all the scotch block connectors are for. Looking at your last 2 pictures, it looks like the cables are connected wrongly.

In the 2nd wiring picture, the upper smaller connector is wrong. separate the 2 parts. That single wire should plug into the rear of the head unit.

The similar looking male plug in the upper picture should then plug into the female end that the single wire was removed from.

Similarly the other larger multi-wire connector is also wrong. Disconnect and plug the male part into your head unit. The connect the larger connector in the other picture to the female end. The foam that is on that plug Volvo used to cover the connection and stop them rattling.

The upper picture has the 2 antenna cables that plug into the rear of the head unit as well as the other plug. You then have one missing cable from the amplifier. If you look at my pictures that show the wires for the back of the head unit you can see the plug that BJ mentions above. It has to be tucked back there somewhere.

Forgot I had a couple of pictures on my computer:

In the picture above you can see all the connections needed for an SC-901 and amp.

Although my larger connector has all similar colored wires they are actually different. The 2 antenna wires are hidden down on the left hand corner of the rear of the head unit in the picture

You can see the missing connector on the right hand side of this picture.

Hope that helps.
