Wow! I love it, looks great. Clear lenses are a nice touch. These are genuine morimoto classic mini h1 or 7.0 mini h1?

ecbsykes - How were you able to buy (cheap) clear lens headlight assemblies from IPD? I can't see any on their website.
I started sanding my old headlight lens.

I used the clear lenses that came with the ABM projectors I no longer use. Not sure where to buy clear lenses new. Maybe eBay?

I gave up the lens sanding project and ordered new clear glass headlight assemblies from Amazon.

I did a similar retrofit a few years ago on a car I just sold using an FXR projector kit from the retrofit source. I sourced the clear lenses from autolampsplus.com for $108 at the time.

They are not listed on the website, which is hosted on ebay, so you need to email or call them to ask if they can still get them. I think that they were being sourced as replacements lenses for ABM's (non-HID) projector headlight buckets. I originally did the conversion back in 2012, but I did need a replacement lens for one that got cracked by a stone maybe 2 years ago and they were still able to get them then. As far as i could find they were the only aftermarket seller of the clear lenses. Although they likely cost a lot more you could likely get replacement lens from Volov for the "jewel" headlights available on later C70's.

Followed your retrofit directions and am very pleased with the results. I didn't even need to take the fluting out the light output was so much improved. Thanks for a great write-up! :D

Glad I came across this thread! I need to grab a set of headlights from the junkyard and do this. I've been wanting to put HIDs in my car, but I didn't want to just make a light bomb out of the stock halogens.

Hello - Sorry as I know this is an older post. I have a quick question, to replace the bulb in the projector portion do you have to remove the light from the car, then remove the lens? Can it be replaced without disassembling the light?

Thanks
Happy 2018 all
