I have an 98 v70xc. Have had for over three years. Ever since I got it, it would have an intermitent miss (1/2 second). Would happen may once or twice per trip, (if at all). The last year it seemed to go away.

Well a long trip to Florida this spring, the "miss" came back with a vengeance. Almost to a stall condition. I I tried many things, but I think it was the "Main Relay" (yellow). You can swap (change) it with the SAS Relay (yellow), right next to it. When I got home, I took apart both yellow relays and lightly cleaned the contacts and lugs. I also found my spare yellow relay and added to the car emerency kit (which has fuel relay and jumper).

A quick update, happy to report that with a few days nearing 90f all seems well with the stalling issue. I can't say for sure about millage improvement as a couple days after fixing the stalling, my speedometer died. I know have a bad wire on one of the ABS sensors in the front. Someone before me did a hack job of splicing it in, I did a quick patch on it to see if that was my issue and resolved it for a while but it came back a short while later. The ABS light had been on but nothing else was acting up, so shame on me I've been putting off fixing it properly. I'm hoping I didn't screw anything else up with my procrastination.😕. But otherwise She has been running great.
