An XC has self-leveling or nivomat shocks in the rear so what you propose won't work for the rear, though should work fine for the front. For the rear, you will have to get the OEM nivomats which are quite expensive.

Do you have any sugestions on brand or where to look for the rear nivomate. I went to a dealer and it was over 1,000 for them.

Believe you'll find them in that link....follow the directions for correctly identifying the shocks you have.

They're very expensive and the only ones are OEM, made by Volvo

I put the monroe shocks on my car because I didn't know any better. Don't do it!!! I'm going to run them for a couple of year and change them out when I get a year without a lot of maintenance costs. Supposedly they get better with age… we'll see =/

The 5th digit of your VIN determines which Nivomat part number will suit your car. Check this link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001G8HTOU/re ... jvb1NPBRNX

Not so expensive if you shop around. Try Tasca parts for a price.

Anyway, went with the TME sports springs, and Koni Yellow adjustables.

The handling is great, a little firmer than I'd anticipated, but overall worth doing, I'm pleased with the results. Surprisingly the TME springs didn't drop the inch I'd expected, in fact didn't move a millimeter!!, all measurements are exactly as before, I didn't use the camber adjustment bolt at all as nothing moved.

I have a similar setup: give it a few miles to "Settle" (500/1000m). It will feel much different (probably for the better).
-One note of caution: since you had someone do the work: how do you know what they set the "stiffness" too? I had issues matching the rear to the front. (rears have to be removed to be adjusted). Also, the fronts are counter-intuitive: right LOOSY for stiffening the damper.

*edit: sorry thought you were the OP asking question and were new to the konis
