It sounds like the noise I had from how you describe it , check out my old post ( strange noise) I tried everything and never could really pin point it , but after changing the oil filter I haven't heard it since approx 2 months ago

It's more like a buzzing sound exactly how it sounds in the video. But I haven't checked for vacuum leaks

Mine almost sounds like a "spraying" and it's intermittent. It's really strange. Almost like the sound of a fuel pump running, but it breaks up, it's on and off. It's definitely electronic.

Headlight motor? Both of mine buzzed, disconnected harness, resolved. Never would have guessed until someone suggested.

Huh... I'm gonna try that. It's right around that area that I'm hearing it.

My passenger motor went first, a few months later drivers side. Peering in to engine compartment, to the left of the radiator (as you know). Worth considering as it's an easy fix.

I agree with the headlight wiper motor theory. Use to have a strange buzzing sound in the engine bay when the key was on. Motors were intermittently working. Unplugged them both and never heard the noise again.

Maybe you ran over a Vespa and it’s stuck underneath.

So, I recently took it to Volvo to have an air bag message reset due to my battery completely draining over the winter. Tech told me he found a few "ghost" errors that he cleared also. It's been 2 days and I haven't heard the sound since. Hopefully it stays that way. I usually hear the sound all day everyday.
