Your handset was removed as part of Volvo's half measure removal of the carphone. That is why I refused to allow them to perform the recall. I felt either all components should be removed, or left in place. Not remove what's easy. They also ran a reprogram to tell the computer it now didn't have the phone option to stop the annoying message. Nowadays with VIDA the reprogram is obsolete. I finally got Volvo to remove the phone from the computer at my expense without touching the hardware. In a nutshell that is why you have only part of a phone system. I have a phone in the car which I removed because it was broken but I don't see the armrest phone holder like yours. Phone pad is still in the dash.June wrote: ↑09 Apr 2020, 04:44I found the package sheet for the various years of S80. 1998 through 2001 2.9 S NA and was the base model, then the T6 SE which is the base model T6, and the top of the range T6 Executive. For the 2002 year only, there was a 70th anniversary edition in between the SE T6 and the T6 Executive. For the 2003 year the Elite takes the place of the 70th anniversary edition.
In 2004 and 2005 the base model became the FWD 2.5T, with the AWD 2.5T, then the 2.9S, and the SE T6, with the top of the line becoming the T6 Premier.
For the 2006 year model 2.5T FWD, and 2.5 AWD were the only models available. Around 5000 cars were made.
Volvo under Ford apparently tried to reinvent the S80 almost every year from 2002 through 2006 and each level had different seats. My 2002 was a Executive, I really miss that car! My 2004 is a SE T6. It's thoroughly confusing for sure! June
So there is a possibility it could have been a Base Elite not that it really matters. The engine, transmission combo and cruising in the freeway is where the car shines. No special rims and no real wood. My drives are short so haven't check to see what and if it has a DVD system.
Opinion needed: 2001 S60 T5 VS 2005 S80 T6 driver seat comfort Topic is solved

The armrest is a regular unit and the phone wire was attached at the rear but pulled out of it's grommet. When I got the car the dash message was on and still is today although I unplugged the phone when I removed the center console to do some work.

I sat on the sporty S80 seat (first picture) at the junkyard. I sat on the passenger side seat, it was in like new condition. I didn't like the seat - not only it wasn't that plushy, but the side supports on the bottom cushion were too tight (I'm a slim guy) and I felt like they were squeezing me. I guess the Executive anniversary S80 seats posted in the previous page would be the most comfortable S80 seats - and I even seem to see that there are two version of those, one having a longer front section of the bottom cushion. I have on my S60 an S80 seat, they are more comfortable than the S60 ones. I was also looking at the later S60 models, after 2007, they also seem to have an improved, softer, cushion (see pic)
I didn't find these comfortable (too tight and on the firmer side) .
