Paint Care and Plastic trim

For those thinking about painting plastic, SEM brand Trim paint is a high quality product. A nice black matte without being too matte or glossy.

Also, there's an adhesion promoter you need so that the paint sticks to plastic, and plastic flexes so it's a different animal than primer. I think that's right...

I used to use this when I had cars with black/dark paints - always had good luck with it. It contains carnuba wax, but I still always followed it with another coat of pure wax (I used P21S, a blend of carnuba and beeswax) with no cleaners or abrasives in it.

Washed and clay'd yesterday. Testing new DA Polisher and Griot. First polish is with an Orange Sponge Pad and the two pictures are after using the Black Sponge Pad. Used Griot with both pads. The car has heavy factory orange peel. Appears to be in the primer or paint rather than the clear coat so decided not to correct that.
