I Am following your instructions to download vida on wondows 10, and I am on the 2nd script and I am able to run it and press accept on the first prompt to install vida, but when I get to a point later on it just says waiting to complete install. when i look at my task bar I see another tab for vida install wizard, and when I hover over it, there is another prompt that I am supposed to press yes on. however when i click on the preview I am not able to click yes to install. it is basically a ghost screen that I cant interact with so i Cant get past this point.
Any tips on how to fix the issue would be great!

I went through the entire installation process including the patch without issue. I am in the IE Browser in edge, and I can input a username. I tried admin, 1, 2, 3, and 4. It accepts it, says please wait, then instantly refreshes the page in a ms or 2 and has me type it in again. I added a short screen capture of what I am dealing with. Any solutions?

It did the same thing for me. Just let it sit. Took my decent laptop around 10-15 minutes to finish installing.heagyn56 wrote: ↑24 Aug 2023, 01:29 I Am following your instructions to download vida on wondows 10, and I am on the 2nd script and I am able to run it and press accept on the first prompt to install vida, but when I get to a point later on it just says waiting to complete install. when i look at my task bar I see another tab for vida install wizard, and when I hover over it, there is another prompt that I am supposed to press yes on. however when i click on the preview I am not able to click yes to install. it is basically a ghost screen that I cant interact with so i Cant get past this point.

Thank you so much RickHaleParker for all this help in setting up VIDA!
I have succeeded - with the help of the first post and some digging into the wisdom in later conversations here - to install VIDA 2014D_Repack on a Win10Home PC. I installed the Drewtech drivers for my Mongoose JRL, and the connection to my C70 seems to work fine, but...
I can read vehicle profile (model and VIN, rest needs to be entered manually), and access the Diagnostics leaflet. DTC codes are pulled in fine and I was able to use the "fault tracing" under the "Information" tab to quick check my injectors (switching them off one by one - except nothing happened with selecting the the first injector, selecting any of the three others made the engine run roughly, as expected). However, when I enter Diagnostics tab, and select Vehicle Communication, the voltage and key position are shown correctly, as are all the modules in green. But nothing happens when I click any of the modules. Nothing is ppopulated in the parameters window, it stays totally empty. The same is true on the Network tab, although I don't know if something should happen there when selecting any of the modules?
Can you advice me how to move forward to get this diagnostics/live data part working?
EDIT: I’m so sorry. I found the fault. I had no idea that one must RIGHT click to activate the modules. All is working now, except I think I have a real issue with fuel to cylinder one.

Have you been able to get yours to work? I was able to get VXDIAG to work on windows 10 by downloading and installing VX_manager 1.8.9 from VXDIAG's website. The previous version (1.8.x) didn't work on Win10. My problem now is trying to get VIDA to install on Win10. It just won't install (script2 fails - says VIDA NOT OKAY) and when I check the log, it shows that it has issues with the DB it created to call files. I'm in the middle of formatting the PC and starting over. I'll report back.

Finally got it working and wanted to report back on how I did it. I got mine working with the VXDIAG unit. Instructions on page 1 were absolutely correct. Here are the changes I would make:
1. Format your computer/laptop and start with a fresh install of Win10.
2. Do not connect it to the internet/network at all.
3. Connect USB drive or what-have-you and copy over the ISO, patch, and VX-manager files
4. Mount VIDA.ISO as a drive
5. Open the drive (VIDA mount) and follow instructions to run scripts 1-3, etc.
6. When you get to instructions about IE, instead, click on windows button, type default and choose "default app"
6a. Go down to internet and change EDGE to internet explorer
7. Install VX-Manager 1.8.9 (for VXDIAG unit)
8. Plug in VXDIAG unit
9. Open VX-manager and change connection to USB-NANO; restart VX-Manager
10. Open VX-manager and confirm it reads VXDIAG unit; exit VX-manager
11. Open internet explorer and go to localhost/vida
12. Log in (type: admin) and change connection to "VXDIAG" in the pull down menu
And you should be set.

I am having the same issue.
matthew1 wrote: ↑26 Nov 2021, 10:53 Welcome, GearBoy. It looks to be a simple path problem. Those percents are probably spaces. Someone who knows a little about Windows please chime in about that. If that's the case, it's looking for filldb.cmd at, literally, a folder named
" VIDA_HOME patch"
and inside that, the file "filldb.cmd".
So look in File Explorer to see if that is indeed the path and adjust as needed.
Spaces are never good for pathing, whether it's things like this or servers. Hope this helps.

How can I help?
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.
Also -> Amazon link. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!

I followed these instructions and Vida has worked consistently. Until today. I went to load it as I normally would in IEtab and it starts fine. When I go to select a vehicle I get this error
"Root element is missing." in an orange box right above Communication Tool. Now that I look at it, DICE is not available to select. Like the whole dropdown is missing
Things I have tried,
-regedit enableIEhosting
-reinstall dice driver
-disable any .NET great than 3.5
Nothing seems to work.
I'm pretty sure windows did an update that broke something. Dice works fine on another machine.
Anyone else having this issue recently?
EDIT:
If anyone runs into this issue, I re-ran scripts 1-4 and patch. Reboot and DICE selection came back!
