Much of my time during the job is spent hauling things up and down the stairs to the basement or in and out of the storage shed, or running back downstairs when I realize I need something else,or taking a break from standing out in the sun,or using flashlights or work lamps when it gets dark.

I replaced the big front and back engine mounts on my XC70. I noticed a huge improvement in the vibration in my steering wheel while in gear and at idle. It feels like a normal car again. I had previously replaced the torque and right engine mounts. Note- if you reference the FCP YouTube video, I could not get the front mount out after unbolting it without taking out the radiator fan and taking it out the top. It just would not slide around anything to get it out the bottom. Probably the difference between the S60 and XC70.

Suddenly realized I never replaced the weak battery on the P2 from last February. It’s dated 2014. It’s working well in 20F weather but it’s going to sit upstate, so it will get a trickle charger install
Hmmm, this is trickier on the P2 with rear battery...

.
Procured a set of door panels to for swapping. Removed window switches for cleaning and lubrication besides cleaning of the door cards. Use the bent fork to reach the inside tabs of the winder buttons for removal, cleaning and lubrication with dielectric grease. Ran a bead of sealant, will dry clear for any potential squeaks at the top.
Not the exact color but the fabric does help blend it in from what I can tell so far by placing the panel next to the seat.

On the P2 there should be a +ve and -ve connector under the hood for jump starting the car. I keep meaning to check these out for trickle charging as otherwise it means jamming the cable in the rear door seal or feeding a cable through a window which again is not ideal.
If you look at the engine bay picture on this thread:

If you look between the box on the top right marked 'Fuses' and the strut brace there is a +Ve sign on the plastic. Why can't you connect to that and the ground on the engine. I can't recall if on the P2 the top torque mount has a ground wire running to the firewall like on the P80. On my P80's I connect the ground to that ground bolt and the +ve directly to the battery +ve. Will that not work because if you can jump the car from there why can't you charge from there?
Neil.

I've ran battery chargers a couple time under the hood on my P2s. No issues. I connect the positive to the post under the flap below and ground to nearby post connected to the chassis.scot850 wrote: ↑17 Dec 2022, 18:45 On the P2 there should be a +ve and -ve connector under the hood for jump starting the car.
