I just love all those warnings, then DSTC on. That's usually the first thing to deactivate when there's ANY error! :lol:

What got up the IPD+ Facebook manger's rear? They block this post. No statement on why they consider it as spam.
With an attitude like this FCP euro's ranking goes up. This is not the first time I got a shitty response from one of the IPD staff members.

iPd in general has become quite the joke. Between the quality of their parts and the poor information they provide people asking (another thread over on Swedespeed about a K24 turbo swap... guy called and got a response that made most of us go "what the hell?"). Then they undercut well established Volvo forums like this one by making their own... I'm sorry, that just seems wrong.

I been looking for a forum like this forever I have a 2006 XC90 V8 and a 2005 S60R manual i
Wanna swap the V8 and keep the manual I see your keeping the auto I have a buddy who works at volvo he said the AWF21 Tf-80SC and the M66 have the same transmission bolt holes and from what I've seen the flywheel on the s60 and the flex plate on the xc look to have the same bolt pattern too i could be wrong anyways Ill be starting my build soon I'll post progress when I start!!!

The manual will bolt up to the B8444S but the starter is in a different location. You would need to cut the manual Bellhousing and fabricate a starter mount on on the back side of the manual bell housing.

There is no room to put the starter in the original location on the manual Bellhousing. The V8 block partly covers the original starter hole. That is why the B8444S starter is mounted on the back top side of the V8 Bellhousing.

There is a guy who is doing a B8444S swap with an M66 in an S60R. I saw him post on FB about it, but I don't think he has any threads on here or any other forum. I think I posted it here several pages back. I'd be interested to know what he did about the starter situation.

The guys name is Cameron Pyzewski. He is active on FB Volvospeed and he has some stuff on Instagram.

His flywheel is custom. I don't know what the difference is.



This is his starter hack. He cut a notch in the Bellhousing then fabricated a mounting bracket.

If you want a M66 another option is a transmission exchange with Volvo for a M66 for the V8. Will set you back ~$4000.00 .

Yes Volvo makes 8 Cylinder adapter gearboxes. It a whole gearbox exhange for one that has the correct bell housing for the V8.

Search terms "8-Cylinder Adapter Gearbox" to find all or "8-Cylinder Adapter Gearbox M66" for M66 specifically.

A transmission shop might be able to get one from the OEM for less.

With a TF-80 you have several options.

Use a V8 XC90 TF-80 unmodified then change the rear differential to 3.33:1 or convert to front wheel drive only.
Regear a V8 XC90 TF-80 with the gears from a 2006 - 2007 S60R/V70R TF-80 and keep the rear differential as it is.

For the guys in Europe use the gearing from a S60D4/V70D4 TF-80 if you want the higher finial ratio.

It is hard to find the correct axles listed in North America. The front axles from a S60D4 / V70D4 with a TF-80 are the same as the S60R/V70R TF-80 axles.
