I think I have more information. Symptoms: RPM going up and down while accel pedal is the same. This happens at around 37-45mph and gearbox in 5th gear. At first I thought the gearbox was going from 5th to 4th gear, but I am not feeling any gear changes. I think I might be getting tcc slip, the converter is locking and unlocking every three seconds or so causing RPM changes by 200-300. Beyond that speed, it's "fine".
The only way for me to verify this further is to write a can logger for the gearbox.
Btw, I don't claim to know this is what it is for sure, in fact I know next to nothing about torque converters, but a little tip is that cruise control works fine for the same speed(no RPM oscillations every three seconds) so while not certain, maybe I can rule out the ETM.
