The Mann oil filter is really heavy so I know it also caught a lot of debris. The drained oil left golden color, non-magnetic particles on my draining felt. Car still runs but sounds like a bag of rocks. I’m sure there’s engine damage. Any ideas on what the particles are? Cylinder walls? Something else? The best this car can be is a short distance point A to point B vehicle without an engine tear down and rebuild.
If you put in the 5W30 it will destroy that motor quickly so do not drive with it!
If you want PM me your address I will pay for and send you a gallon of Swepco 20W50 from Amazon. You must top off with at least a 15W40 or 20W50 motor oil to the correct level besides changing the filter again.
If it quiets the engine and makes it driveable with the buildup of Tribofilm, instead of reimbursing me for the oil just donate the cost of the Swepco to MVS. Depending on the severity of the wear you maybe able to prolong the life of the engine but it's not a guarantee but definitely worth a try.
Whatever you do, do not drive that loose motor with the 5W30! Again, you must put in another filter also. Let me know if you want to experiment, if it doesn't work remove the Swepco and put it to good use in another car as the filter should remove any debris from the oil when the filter and oil are both fresh.

The additive package including DIMONYL® will overcome the small friction created by build up of the Tribofilm.

The high friction is relative depending on what friction it's comparing it. Besides in the right amount with a good additive package that's overcome while having the benefit of the Tribofilm on the internals of the engine. That film also helps with morning starts as it stays on the surfaces of the internals unlike oil going back to the pan. There will always be some oil residual but with Swepco it's going to be much more!
