Anyone Buy Intercooler Silicone Hoses?

+1 for stylinmotors. Their kit worked great for me. If you run into trouble, try what jimmy57 said about stretching the opening out a little first. I did that with a coke can on a couple of connections; it helped so much.

Used vaseline, a bicycle tire lever and most importantly 2 extra hands from my wife! Went on with out much effort. However only did the hose that connects the pipe from the IC to the pipe to top of turbo as it was ripped at the top and causing driveabilty problems.

I take it back. FCP hoses are a huge PITA.

Got them on, after 3 hours. They fit decently, but that's about it.

I sure hope they never come loose.

Suggestion: Buy something else. Spend a few extra bucks and save a lot of headache.

I jumped and bought a set about an hour ago...my originals are way too spongy and probably won't last much longer. If all goes well I'll have them before the weekend.

A second pair of hands works wonders. I also used silicone spray and a heat gun.

Matt, which one you got?

I bought the blue set...don't know why I didn't get black. I have a load of clamps here from our last NA to Turbo swap that didn't work out.

I didn't know Stylin' motors was back in business...seems like they closed up shop for awhile last winter. FCP gets my money for $100 less.

I put these on this weekend. I honestly thought everybody having a problem getting them on was either some sort of sissy or not trying hard enough...they were right, they're hard to get on.

I don't see it happening if you are doing it by yourself without taking all of the IC piping out of the car. I took it all out and used my trusty vise as a second set of hands. I used a small screwdriver instead of a tire lever and silicone spray. where the IC hoses meet the TB and IC I used a hook type of tool I made myself.

I think it took about 90 minutes, maybe even a little longer. I wouldn't want to do it again, at least by myself. 2 people would be ideal.

BUT, they're on and they are tight. The overall fit is good...no complaints in that area. For a hundred and change, you can't beat them.

I just got finished putting on the FCP kit, and I'd buy it again. There are a couple of tight bits, but with a little patience, everything goes together just fine.

The toughest part was the connections that connect to the "squiggly" aluminum pipes (the ones that wrap over the engine and feed to the bottom of the intercooler). I did what everyone else mentioned with the hair dryer/heat gun and silicone spray, but added the step of peening the edge of the aluminum pipes with a lightweight hammer. I was having a heck of a time before peening, but afterwards, they went together like you would expect a tight hose to fit.

I hope my tip helps someone out there.

I just installed my hoses from FCP. It wasn't easy, but it is possible. The hot water trick worked the best. The IAC hose was off a little but I got it on without twisting the hose. The TB to IC was the hardest by a long shot.
