I was surprised to find while doing this job that very little ATF drained out. I didn't need to add more than about 100mL / 4oz of fluid at the end of the job.
Your procedure is stellar Jreed, cn90's masterful DIY makes it transparent.
I will add few comments to your procedure after i have back on the street.

May thanks.

You can use 3309 if you want. Some people even prefer it over standard Dex III. 3309 isn't going to cause any problems, and if your car has hard shifting it is reported to help with that and actually recommended by Volvo in that situation (e.g. http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/topic/11 ... obil-1-atf).

However if you are going to flush your trans fluid anyway now, that's where I would dump the 3309 and go with standard Dex III. Mostly because it is cheaper and works very well. The MaxLife you showed will work, but I would actually go with the SuperTech brand at WalMart, which is like $12 a gallon.

But if you don't want to flush out the trans now, then continuing to use 3309 is fine.
Very helpful! Thank you for taking time to map it out better.

Just noticed that the title to this post is a little confusing; well at least for me!! :?

If a Transmission is leaking how can it be a leaking leak? If it's already leaking it's already a leak!!

Must be a big leak if it's a leaking leak

Dear Sir or Guys,I recently bought a used 2004 v70 Volvo wagon for my wife I paid 3,000 dollars it has 160,000 miles on it.however on my first day home I noticed it was leaking anti-freeze due to a bad out spout at the top of the ratiator . Anyway I only have a 30 or one thousand mile warranty on this car . The seller right away said he would replace the ratioator right away but after doing so I noticed I'm leaking transmission fluid and it appears to be right underneath the front bumper I can see the tranny fluid running from one side to the next going from left to right if your facing the car from the front. I just got the car back tonight and I told the seller that its now leaking transmission fluid and he replied I'm over the thousand miles so he wont cover it . Well I dont have the time to chase this guy down but the mechcanic who installed the ratiator seems to be a nice guy. What I want to no is this is it possible that the lower hose is leaking because from what I can see it looks to be saturated with transmission fluid . The top doesnt appear to be leaking and like I said the bottom of the bumper is coat with alot of fluid. Please get back to me as to what I should check. I don't no if tranny fluid passes through that bottom hose . Thank you guys you are great signed Stressed out in Southcarolina. [email protected]

It is normal for connections to fail after radiator replacement, meaning any and all seals, gaskets, hoses, and clamps are up for replacements, assuming the replacement radiator is Volvo's.
