The lifter kit (which comprises 20 lifters is available from Volvo)

I can't provide a number as they are listed singly in Vadis and I believe they are now only sold in sets (the single number no longer responds to a database search at Volvo dealers)

The valves themselves are not what usually creates the noise.

Before you go spending the bank on boutique oil, you may want to just try a heavier weight oil or a high mileage oil. Where are you located? If not in a cold winter climate, you can safely run 15w-40 year round. Rotella 15w-40 (non-synthetic) is an excellent, moderately priced oil.

ok problem solved.changed all the lifters.now sounds quiet like a sleeping angel.
