UPDATE:

New pulley and magnet installed, new serpentine belt and plugs. All put back together, car starts and runs well initially and A/C blows cold.

Took for a test ride. About mile into it, no power or real acceleration. Get home and idle jumps and codes , P2172 and P1630.

Urgent Service message.

Any ideas what to focus on??!! I was really excited, but now let down by this. This was not an issue before.

Thanks

Those are ETM codes for bad things happening in the throttle body. You do have the last year of the MM ETM so I think its time to head to Dons ETM forum and choose from

Junkyard ETM matched to car
XMODEX solution
Volvo for yellow label and software upgrade

based on the usual balance of time/money/convenience.
Empty Nester
A Captain in a Sea of Estrogen
1999-V70-T5M56 2005-V70-M56 1999-S70 VW T4 XC90-in-Red

For the ETM, perhaps also have a look on Ebay for repair services as Xmodex is on the expensive side
