Same voltage regulator as the one that was in there before.
Ignition switch swap was a direct plug and play, no issues there
None of the lights work

Hi dbraddock,
Sorry to hear your still having electrical issues, but before you replace the alternator you could take it out and have it checked at the local parts store. I know the Autozone down the street from house will do it free of charge. The Bosch alternators Volvo uses are pretty well made, but it's possible there is an internal short that is causing the voltage drain.
Are you sure you got the voltage regulator seated properly when you replaced it, if the brushes are not seated properly you could get those fault lights on the dash. Let me know and good luck.

You shouldn't have to remove it.
Most parts stores have the newer
handheld testing units that will
check the entire charging system
right there in the parking lot.

So I just read through the entire thread to try to catch up, it looks like all you have done is replace the battery and check some voltages. I misunderstood, thought you had been troubleshooting the alternator. GO back and look at BEJ's post of July 5: first step is to take it to the parts store, for free they will do a decently thorough test of the charging system. Probably the alternator is bad, and probably because of the VR, but you need to test them to know.
