Re: URO parts

Post by precopster »

I recently supplied 5 or 6 sets of URO upper strut mounts to a number of customers and one set was fitted by me to a 2007 XC70. I will report in with the feedback when/if I hear anything awry.

Also I have a number of hoses for P2 coolant reservoir and P80 coolant reservoir. I also sold a number of URO P2 fuel flap hynges recently and some URO temp sensors. Nothing bad to report on those yet and they've been in service for about 12 months.

Also I used a URO door stay in our 850 about 4 years ago and believe me when I say my wife opens and shuts her door at least 4-6 times every day with no issues. I thoroughly greased the assembly with my own Moly based lubricant grease before fitting it so this may have helped.

The URO upper radiator hose for my P2 will also go in to my newly completed XC 2001 project car and I'll report about any swelling.

Fire the Engineering department's MBA and go old school where all engineering decisions were made by engineers not MBAs. Using engineering principles not bean counting. The MBA's education in finances is worthless without products that sell and attract repeat customers.

What where the founders expecting when they named the company Ürine parts? Üro does mean Ürine. Clearly the MBAs at Ürine parts don't know what they are doing OR they do know what they are doing which is even worst.

Almost 6 years and Üro is still on the trailing edge. Actions, inactions in this case, speak louder than words.

Yea, I'm going to have to agree with this long standing thread. I have tried URO parts for my BMW and both my Volvos. I've mostly had to replace them after a very short service life. In some cases, like the metal thermostat fitting on my XC90 to replace a broken plastic one, the URO part just didn't fit at all! I thought I was getting an upgrade and ended up throwing it away.

On my BMW, I kept wondering why a coolant leak wouldn't go away. I replaced with URO hoses and it still leaked. I finally paid dearly for an OEM hose and magically the problem was resolved.

I actively remove URO products from my searches now.
Like everyone here, I was initially attracted to their low low prices. But after redoing a job multiple times...

I'll still give them a shot if it's an easy to access part and it's not expected to experience conditions that are too harsh. Not so many things fit that description under the hood though.
