That started in 1999 with turbos , Stayed with 2000, in wondering when it changed.

I was talking about P2s Steve. They were delivered here in Oz and UK much earlier. My P2 T5 is actually built in Sep 2000 and was registered as a 2000 model but for the purposes of conformity with the US market I refer to it as a 2001

The diagram that Rick and I both found was for a v70. It has the boost sensor on the intercooler, and appears to have a second MAP sensor on the pipe closer to the throttle body.

Your error code indicates a problem with the boost sensor.

Would you take a photo of the intake pipe where is comes out of the intercooler, showing the intercooler?

Also please let us know the full model details - engine? is it an XC?

He stated earlier it's an XC AWD. Whether an XC or 2.4T makes no difference as they use the same engine if turbocharged.

If it's a B5244T3 it will use the boost sensor in the centre of that pipe as per Rick's diagram. The second sensor on that pipe is a charge air temperature sensor.

If it's an early build B5254T2 it will have the boost pressure sensor on the same pipe just before the intercooler on the right as you look down in to the engine bay.

It got to be some place between the Turbo and the Throttle unit.
Start at the Turbo and trace along the air flow until it is found.

Pictures could be helpful.

I did trace the pipe(s0..no go. The MAP sensor in the middle of the pipe serves as the booster. I'm waiting for that part. I'll change it out and we'll see.

Just to let you guys know, car got fixed. It was the MAP/ boost pressure sensor....#4 in the diagram y'all provided. Part 3s are 9125462 and the other part # 0261230029...Don't which is the Volvo part #.
So, evidently on my 2002 Volvo V70 XC AWD wagon the MAP doubles as a boost sensor. and part # 18 in the diagram has no relevance.
Car's running great ..check engine light off.

Thank all of you for your input!

Peter

Dragged out the AllData 2013 disks. AllData 2013 shows a separate Boost Sensor for a 2001 V70 but not the 2002 V70.

Guess you gained some wisdom from this experience. Locate and identify the part before you order a replacement.

In the old days we always remove the part and took it to the parts store so we could do a side by side comparison.

There are both VIN BREAKS and engine model breaks on That that sensor

Volvo likes to put a diagram with multiple options on the parts diagram, Younkin have to read the text to make sure you get the right option

If the diagram is wrong, let’s us know the three things you have

Last 6 of VIN
ENGINE MODEL NUMBER
part number

So we can document it here please
