Coolant Recovery tank

If you have a simple scan tool you should be able to see the ECT (engine coolant temperature) as reported by the coolant temperature sensor. Since you replaced it I would assume it is giving accurate information. Perhaps a cheap infrared thermometer from Harbor Freight could also be used to check the temp of the radiator.
I checked my green cap on the 1999 s70-glt and there is a flat gasket on the cap that seals it to the reservoir thread.

Is the level at half the bottle when cold in the morning? Perhaps air is back feeding into the system potentially causing a problem? I didn't see the cap leaking? Clean engine compartment!

The video had to but cut because it was 20 seconds long so hard for you to see, the main time it leaks is when I have been out driving when very hot out and i pop the hood when i pull in the drive and it leaks from the back right corner and you can tell it's the cap leaking. After a couple days of driving it is evident by the blue coolant all over the expansion tank and down it where it leads down the side.

Does the video show the coolant level when cold or hot. It is too high if this is a cold engine. Remove fluid until the level is at the seam between the top and lower portion of the reservoir. That is the MAX fill line.
If that is the action on a cold engine it looks like high pressure is entering the coolant system. This could be a head gasket leak. Find or buy a combustion leak detection kit, about 50 dollars. You remove the cap with space to hold some "gas" or air. Then withdraw some of the air into the tube that is filled with special blue fluid. if is turns yellow it has detected hydrocarbons from the combustion process.

I noted in my post that this is what it does after a hot drive, when cold it is at normal level. My question was just merely if this is normal for the C70 2.3 Turbo which seems to be the case so I just have to address the leak, i ordered a new OEM Volvo cap, hope that fixes my issue.

Just to confirm.

1) Does the cap have a gasket?

2) Is the coolant level at half or seam of the expansion tank when cold in the morning?
