Got the car registered!
I had been driving around "illegally" with Finnish plates for over a month and it had already been unregistered in Finland for a couple months. Even got pulled over once and told that if they see me driving it again, they'd put it on a trailer and ticket me.
Only good things from here on out, I had really started to question whether I can get it registered or if I had to pull it apart and sell for parts.

With the coolant, these cars are bad for air-locks in the cooling system. It can take several hot/cold cycles of the engine for the 'burping' to clear if you are un-lucky. I generally raise the front end of the car when re-filling and fill slowly while squeezing the radiator pipes to try to persuade the air out the system. This is not 100% successful but maybe a 50/50 success rate.

Glad you have got it 'legal'. Maybe you can get to enjoy it more.

Yeah, now I don't have to constantly peek in the rear view mirror to see if any cops are following me :D

What's the average consumption at around 54 mph (88km/h), that I should expect? Because right now I averaged 11.5L/100km (20mpg) over 410km, from empty to empty.

Sounds low to me. I think I get better than that with my V70R (2000 P80 model) and on a run at 100-110kph probably nearer 10l/100km. My buddy with the 5 speed auto V70 base model from 2000 (P80) managed 7l/100km on flat roads. My parents managed the same in an 850 NA (93 year).

One of the "bushings" on top of the transmission for the shifter cable was shot, so I replaced it with a 608 2RS bearing and it fit perfectly. However it did not fix the issue.
What's the next logical step, take apart the interior to get to the shifter base and see what's going on?

Be cautious about driving it too long with leaking valve stem seals, as the leaking oil will cake onto the valves and eventually burn out your valves, which is much more money and work than just fixing the stem seals. :-)
I have leaky valve stem seals for last 10+ years. ;)
Engine burns a liter of oil....

*********I think that main secret is to floor it in high rpms 2-3 times a month,to burn off those oily deposits from valves.
Maintained regularly and engine never had a hiccup.
Mileage is 320+k km.**********

And another issue - idle is high, around 1300 RPM.
Started randomly after a 10km outside the city drive.
Disconnecting MAF lowers the idle to around 900, no codes in the OBD1 A2.

And the exhaust manifold is cracked.
Which exhaust manifolds fit on the 850 2.0 T5? 850 T5, first gen V/S/C70?
