No. It wont work. The car wont even start if you even try it.

You'll have more luck with a 2000 V70 module. Matty just sent me one for my 2000 and I placed it in my 1999 with no worries at all though they had different numbers. My 1999s was made in the Phillipines and the 2000 was made in Mexico

Exactly.

96-98 is one type, 99-2001 is another. Neither type is compatible with each other, but otherwise the years in each group are.

you can't gauge what type of module you have based on whether it's a turbo, or NA. the 99-2001 cars used regular abs without traction, TRACS and STC. Being that you're in NJ, you could have any one of those three. If your car has TRACS or STC, you could put a non-traction unit, TRACS or STC unit in there if you wanted to. IF you have plain ABS without traction you could put a STC or TRACS unit in there, but you won't have the functionality of traction control because of the ABS pump installed from the factory.

Our 99 is regular abs, whatever module was left in there last is what it runs with. My 98 is TRACS, same thing. I just run whatever was left in there last.

Abs Module.jpg
So I decided to tackle this project as well today after the wife's 99 V70 N/A's Tracs and ABS lights finally went solid this last week after frizting on and off for the last 6 weeks or so. I pulled the Module out no problem (a 4mm socket fit very snugly on the t-5 torx heads), getting it apart was a bit more of a hassle. I took a dremel to the edges of the case and was able to pull it apart after about 15-20 minutes of work.

Unfortunately, at the very end i nicked part of the circuit board on the module (must have been with the large flat head I used to pry it apart). I just hit the board and not any of the capacitors or transistors, but where I nicked it (approximately 3 mm from the edge, I can see some copper wire sticking through. Did I just toast the module or am I ok?

I will add a picture in a few minutes as soon as my phone decides to upload them :D

Thanks Matty. I was seriously debating sending it out to you because I didn't want to end up with a paper weight, but I couldn't figure out the right downtime for my wife that worked out when I would have the time to get my hands dirty. I have some experience in computer board soldering so I thought I should give it a shot just to stay fresh ;) Turns out, it worked! Re-soldered the connections, popped it back in and it works like a champ!

I just picked up a abs module from a 99 S70with STC (p/n 949 6440) for my 99 V70 with TRACS (p/n 947 2100). Will the TRACS system work? Will in have STC in the vehicle now? Should I not use thius module?

You'll have STC instead of TRACS, it will work just fine. Same pump assembly, just a different module. Some people like STC and some don't, I just don't care for the throttle being controlled by that in a low traction situation.

Hello,

I tried the repair on my XC70 2007 unsuccessfully, I resumed(took back) the welds of the connections, but during the reassembly nothing changed.

Can you say to me what to make to repair me.

I have already checked(controlled) the sensors of wheel as well as all the fuses is all well.
I took the car to the dealer VOLVO who thinks that it is necessary to change the complete case. Volvo checked(controlled) the cabling which is good.
The default are :
TCM-OA01
TCM-OA02
TCM-OA31
