To RSPI, Thanks.
My son is 19 years old, moved out and driving an old S70. He's quite clueless mechanically and poor as a church mouse. I told him to subscribe to your videos and look around before tackling something he knows nothing about. You can't believe how big a s**t-eating grin he had after his first all-by-himself coolant system flush. That grin alone was worth a million bucks to me.
Warning, Replace your cooling system hoses ASAP

LOL, yes the Step-By-Step instructions can be followed by 14 year old's so he should be fine. Glad to hear that. Makes my day as well.
As for cheap parts, with the Life Time Warranty. LOL Made to last as long as the average person will own a 10+ year old car, 3 years max. LOL I need to get back on track with longer ownership. Had my 740 GLE for about 17 years. Since then I haven't had anything longer than 3 years.

Thanks for the reminder Robert. I am not sure of the trust I have in my 855-T5 cooling system plumbing. Replacing the expansion tank and its appropriate hoses shortly after my purchase were the only things I had done in that respect.
Winter can hit here hard anytime.
I am sure your part number list will be very helpful. I want to replace all of it before this coming winter.
I will take care of it in a week or so.

Good word, Robert! I've done most of mine over the last 3 years. The one that started it all was the coolant hose to the turbo - hard to see, hard to replace, but essential. Now I'm looking at oil seepage from the oil intercooler lines. I guess that's next.

I had replaced everything plumbing related except the heater hoses, and the turbo coolant return hose.
Before photos a couple posts above.
The car drove fine all summer. Put on a couple thousand miles in a few long trips.
I blew a heater hose a half mile from home while pulling out of my local gas station.
I have to also thank one of our moderators Steve, "abscate" for bringing the OE Volvo replacement hoses with him on a business trip in my area to assist in avoiding potential delays in return and backorder issues I may be having.
Great to meet you Steve. Thanks so much, and I look forward to a chance to return such a favor.
I had cracked the coupling when I removed the old hoses, so I have a new heater core, and coupling with the tubes scheduled to be here in two days to be at complete ease with the coolant lines for a while.
I am still able to reach the couplings in the engine compartment so I put everything back together.
The rest will mostly be work inside the car to remove and replace the heater core, tubes, and junction couplings.
The only thing left is the metal pipe to the block with the multiple fittings. It seems fine.

My pleasure meeting you too, Ben850....you have certainly inspired me to replace those hoses on mine, too.
