Do you know the difference between 30777495 and 8699467? One is about 10 bucks one is about 20, from Volvo.
Question best ask the Volvo dealer. I used Victor Reinz MS19361.

BTW, some Forever Black on the red wagon will really help the faded black trim. I used it on the sled with great results. It actually does what it says.
I wrapped mine (myself) in 3M 1080 car wrap - looks excellent (and won't fade for at least 5 years). I even got the tailgate handle thing off (which was a PITA) and wrapped that, and it made all the difference. I'm wanting to do the faded parts of the bumpers as well, but I have no idea how to dismantle them.

I inherited a worn out 98 T5, and I've grown to love the thing. Jablackburn's S70 T5 back in 2012. I've put looooots of sweat equity and work into bringing it back to its former glory- wouldn't trade it for anything!
Nice car though. I really wish mine was a T5M.

When I did a project plan for the 850 NA that eventually went my niece in California, I had a all in price for repairs and purchasing the car for $2650 CDN for parts and any labor that I could not do. This would mean an all in price of approx. $2000 US. But as usual I suffered project creep on the cost including the parts volunteered from members on MVS. I ended up being nearer $3400-3500 all in due to factors I could not have known about but should be expected on a car of this cage. That said, most of the issues (nearly all of $800 of the overrun) were due to claimed repairs having either not having been done by repair shops with receipts, or work that had been done badly or damaged parts. So basically ended up having to replace the PCV system, the timing pulleys, and the heater core.

I would not have minded the extra cost if I had know of these issues up front. Disappointingly, the fact that these issues were mostly due to cheating incompetent repair shops is sad. If they had been due to an incompetent amateur and were not receipted then I wouldn't have felt so bad.

In the end, the extra cost came out of my wife and my pocket and is paid forward to my niece and brother. The project scope also changed from a hobby flip to one going to a single dad and daughter in my family, so the car had to be as good as I could make it so limiting future spending to a minimum I hope!

Would I do another. Maybe, but the issue is me, I need everything to work as it should and can't sell a car on with mechanical issues that I am aware of. Clearly I will never be able to make a living from this like some can!

But what did also amaze me is how many issues a car can develop and the owners either live with them or genuinely are not aware of them.

Neil.

Yep bought a 98 v70 for the wife- budgeted 700$ for parts- then I needed a steering rack and delta links so $1100 but now there shouldn't be any issues for years and the whole cost of the car and parts is like 7 months of payments on a Kia

Old thread alert

It was great that the poster shared this, I pay myself $25 for car work. It’s hard to get to this number flipping a car if you do what’s really needed.

As posted above, these cars are lousy flips, but great buys for refurbishing to own.
