Updates-
The spark plugs, fuel filter, radio lights, trunk struts, abs module, low coolant level sensor, leaky oil cap, heater core and hanging plastic bits have all been replaced or repaired.

Currently the only dash light is the trunk open warning.
I cleared all the codes 2-3 days ago, driven 210+ miles, nothing has come back on. I am hoping that no codes come back...is driving well. It doesn’t have any shifting issues and the P0722 “transmission output speed sensor” code has not come back (never changed this sensor).
I am hoping that the old ABS module was what caused this code and it just needed to be driven a while before this code would go away. (I cleared it immediately last time after replaced abs module but it came right back on)

The first and second time I cleared the codes, everything came right back on right after starting the car. This time nothing returned!
I know it’s still early to celebrate, it may need some more cold starts before the computers do all their tests.

Next-PCV breather box, transmission fluid(already in the garage waiting to be used), gear shift light bulb, trunk latch, and cigarette lighters.
The current cigarette lighters don’t work, the fuse is fine. So when I take the center console apart I’ll inspect everything.

I also need to inspect the injectors, that’s on the to do list.
When I do the PCV I’ll change the oil.

What do you guys think about this? It’s running pretty well. After around 50MPH it’s hard to gain speed very quickly. It will max at 90, but it takes a while to get there. Low speeds acceleration is fine, at least from what I can tell.

Clean the PCV system, especially the ports on the block. Then do the Transmission oil. You may find the car runs better with use after this. Being a 99 did you check the condition of the coil packs under the rubber boots?

Will do!

I looked over all the coils when I took them out, two are fairly new from the last two owners. The other 3 coils are original. They didn’t get any significant amount of oil on them, it was mainly on the boots.

What you have to check is for cracks in the coil pack bodies under the rubber boot. They can run in this condition, but may break down at higher revs. Check if the cracks extend all the way down toward the plug contact).

That is good as they usually crack just under the rubber boot on the opposite side from the connector, and the left side between the connector and the opposite side. Be careful when checking them as they can be hairline so check under a good light source.

If it is still in budget after fixing half dozen more things I want replace the remaining 3 coils so all 5 will be similar age. I have a feeling that won’t happen though LOL

If it all gets too much, I have a 2000 V70 SE base/NA coming up for sale in the next couple of weeks. Only real let down for the car is the body is a 5/10 (or 10ft with no sunlight). Not for rust but due to dents on the roof (PO would appear to have been careless with the use of cross rails and roof box) and scratches. Car only had 2 spots of rust on the roof due to un-treated stone ships but I have filled those in after treating.

Otherwise the car has about 165,000 miles on it and has had about $4-5000 spent on it and countless hours in the last year by me. Only thing still to do in the next year is a timing belt and water pump. I have a new Hepu pump and Volvo tensioner and idler, just not the belt yet. Biggest issue is getting it over the border (read the escapades my brother and I had back in September 2016 with a 97 850 going to California). Plan to take it for an insurance inspection at Volvo dealer next week and assuming all is good it has to go.

Car has way more into it than it will ever be worth as the original plan was to keep it as a city runner, but worsening arthritis in my lower back and neck mean transitioning to an SUV is now needed!

In your case, just watch out how the costs can run away with you!
