DEM-0001 AWD Not Working

I presume Digi-key matched the connector with the harness # I was searching for. Digi-key has the right connector but also ordered this using the 1J0973741 you provided:

The DEM-0007 hasn't appeared for the past 7 days. If it doesn't strike back then I'll let it be.

During the past month the DEM-007 only appeared twice. After driving it's always yellow so it's not continuously failing. Only time I saw it RED was when I started it without even driving. I cleared the code before that start so the DEM must of been feeding the pump to test for pressure.

Highest chance it's the sensor internal connection within the DEM since I broke that sensor when trying to mount the DEM onto the Haldex. Slight chance it could be the DEM harness connector I have listed in the above post.

Haven't posted lately because I'm making a career change and moving 1200 miles south. I don't want the P2 being dragged by the moving truck so I'll drive her alone late next week. If the code starts up again I'll try repairing the sensor connection within the DEM in the 2 car garage I'll have in September.

Driving 1200 miles do you suggest I pull the DEM fuse to save MPG?

I know the haldex engages no more 10% on highway. Before I replaced the broken sensor it was running only FWD and I did get higher MPG during that 3 week period.

More like 5%.

I didn't notice any significant MPG improvement when my collar sleeve did strip.

I noticed higher MPG with the broken sensor because I did mostly city driving. Being just highway during the long trip I'll let the Haldex be.

I'll drive nonstop so will check for Diagnostics using VIDA during every gas station stop.

My new garage will be twice the size of my current 1 car garage. Permanently fixing the DEM will be easier down there.

Eh, it's all about lack of attitude I did a chassis swap in 1 car garage (well, technically 2, but it was too short for V70 and XC70). Though I had some space for tools, engine, body parts, etc...

Ugh, I can imagine. What provoked/prompted that project (pair)?
I too know this frustration of working in a 1-stall garage, contorting when 6'4" is super fun. Lift is only 500' away, thankfully.


So John, I know we had talked about the pump rebuild kits from Latvia, did you end up rebuilding yours? Or since the codes have gone in to almost total cessation, have you just left it?

For some reason the sensor isn't getting any pressure reading. It only reads 0Mpa. The Haldex fluid is full. I tried testing the pump with a 9V battery but got no response. Does it need 12V to turn on? The pump current is reading 2.5 to 7amps. Does that verify the pump is being activated?

Healthy motor should consume about 0.7-1.3 amps. And, yes, they all die in about 10-12 years of service. I have an old working one for free if you feel you've paid enough for Haldex diagnosis Located in Ashland.
